About Me

Hi, my name's Kelly and I like to cook. Well, I like to do a lot of stuff, such as: organic gardening, raising kids (I have FIVE of them - I better like it!), reading and learning, doing art and artistic things, and learning more and more how to live off the land. I am very much opposed to artificial ingredients, and much prefer things in their natural, unprocessed state. This shows up a lot in my cooking, and is a bonus to all who buy my cakes. Unlike many bakers, my buttercream is made with butter only (NO SHORTENING), the eggs used could possibly come from the hens in my own backyard, and I will not use artificial flavoring to flavor your cakes, fillings or frostings. This makes for a much higher quality cake than you could purchase at a grocery store - or even at many bakeries. But enough about cakes...


Before I ever had children, I LOVED to cook. Kids will zap that desire from you quickly with constant cries of "mac n cheese" when you have just spent three hours in the kitchen making an elaborate meal that used every pot in your kitchen, three mixing bowls and a cookie sheet. I am ever so slowly regaining that desire, as I begin to care less what they want me to cook, and begin to care more about what I want to eat. (They never actually eat what I put on their plates, even when I do make the mac n cheese, so why widen my own waistline over it?) I am hoping that I can share some of my interesting creations with you guys, possibly inspire you, and maybe even learn a thing or two from you guys.
